THE BIG FRIENDLY GIANT Childsplay Theatre at Tempe Center
For The Arts by Nick Connell of
AZ Weekly
There’s a big friendly giant worth playing along with
in Tempe as
Childsplay new production of THE BIG FRIENDLY GIANT opened at
the Tempe Center for the Arts.
There’s magic, dreams and a
fascinating
story of a friendly giant, played gently and kindly by Dwayne
Hartford, who befriends an orphan girl Sophie, played delightfully by
Debra Stevens. These two take us on a magical mystery adventure
into the land of dreams and giants, who can run wild and scare even
the most courageous of humans.
Director David Saar’s imagination
is perfect for the Roald Dahl book adapted by David Wood for the
stage. The crew of giants roaming the countryside and the magical
special effects in dreamland were fascinating and breathtaking!
Catch the magic of BFG through May 23rd. Tickets 480-350-2822 or
