The 22nd Annual Chandler Ostrich Festival is THIS WEEKEND, March 12 - 14!
Ostrich ranching was once an important part of life in Chandler. Chandler and Maricopa County once led the nation in raising ostriches for their stylish and expensive plumes. To celebrate the city's rich history as well as provide a first-class community event, the Chandler Chamber of Commerce created the Ostrich Festival in 1989.
Now on it's 22nd year and has grown to become one of the premier festivals in the southwest, with 250,000 to 350,000 people attending the three-day celebration each spring.
Where else could you see live ostrich races, eat an ostrich burger or entertain the kids with ostrich-themed activities? Only at the Chandler Ostrich Festival!
The festival will also feature a Saturday morning parade, a carnival midway, national and regional musicians, dancers, artists and entertainers along with a variety of delicious food vendors. Make sure to visit Ostrich Alley where you can purchase ostrich foods, feather dusters, leather goods and other merchandise.
The festival takes place at Tumbleweed Park in Chandler, on the southwest corner of McQueen and Germann roads from March 12th to the 14th.
